M I S S I O N  I S L A M –1422-1432/ 2001-2011

‘Allah knows best where and how to carry out His Mission.’ (HQ, 6:124)

In Rabi al-Thani 1422/ July 2001, the book ‘MILLENNIUM ISLAM’, a guide to how to be a Muslim in the new millennium and fifteenth Islamic century, was published. The book contained seven Islamic Missions of global significance, which when combined are referred to as ‘Mission Islam’. Over the past decade, many Muslims around the world have strived to achieve ‘Mission Islam’ and below are those individuals and institutions whose distinguished achievements Ihsanic Intelligence (I-I) celebrates.

M I 1: Water is Life

MI1) The Islamic Relief Network – “Water is Life” seeks to raise the access of water and basic health facilities in the Islamic world: ‘We made from water every living thing.’ (HQ, 21:30)

First Decade Distinguished Achiever – Islamic Relief, UK

Islamic Relief is a leading international aid and development charity striving to end poverty and is based in the United Kingdom. In 1430/ 2009, it celebrated its 25th anniversary and has over 360 projects in 35 countries, and its work has been honoured by HRH Prince Charles of the United Kingdom. M I 2: The Bounty of Allah

MI2) The Islamic Commercial Network – “The Bounty of Allah” seeks the establishment of a global commercial system unifying the Islamic world’s resources whereby Muslims trade justly with one another: ‘In the Bounty of Allah, and in His Mercy – in that, let them rejoice.’ (HQ, 10:58)

First Decade Distinguished Achiever – DinarStandard.com, USA

DinarStandard.com is a website focused on Emerging Muslim Markets and was established in 1426/ 2005. Its work on greater trade within and with the Islamic world has been acclaimed globally. Website: http://www.dinarstandard.com

M I 3: War on Usury

M13) The Islamic Financial Network – ‘War on Usury” seeks to eliminate the Islamic world’s debt through the establishment of a global financial and banking system based on Islamic law: ‘O you who believe! Fear Allah and eliminate usury if you are really believers. And if you do not, then take notice of a war from Allah and His Messenger.’ (HQ, 2:278-9)

First Decade Distinguished Achiever – Al-Rajhi Bank, Saudi Arabia & Malaysia

MI4) The Islamic Literacy Network – “Read!” seeks to increase the Islamic world’s literacy rate: ‘Read! In the Name of your Lord Who has created.’ (HQ, 96:1)

First Decade Distinguished Achiever – Gülen Charter Schools, Turkey

Fethullah Gülen of Turkey was voted the world’s top intellectual in 1428/ 2008 and has established over 1,000 schools worldwide with over 2 million students educated so far. Website: http:// www.gulenschools.com

M I 5: Signs in Languages

M15) The Islamic Linguistic Network – “Signs in Languages” seeks to have the Invitation to Islam in every language and for the world to understand the Holy Qur’an in understanding in their native language and in Arabic: ‘And among His signs are the creation of the heavens and the earth and the differences of your languages and colours. Verily, in that are indeed signs for men of sound knowledge.’ (HQ, 30:22)

First Decade Distinguished Achiever – Harun Yahya, Turkey 

Harun Yahya, the pen-name for Adnan Oktar of Turkey, has published the most articles and books about Islam in the most languages over the past decade, distributed globally. Website: http://www.harunyahya.com

MI6) The Islamic Generations Network – “Generation Islam” seeks to increase the youth commitment to Islam through Mission Islam across the generations: ‘If only they had been of the generations before you who had wisdom, who prohibited men from mischief in the Earth.’ (HQ, 11:116)

First Decade Distinguished Achiever – Zaytuna College, USA

Zaytuna Institute was founded in the USA by Sheikh Hamza Yusuf, who in 1422/  2001 counselled US President George W. Bush in the aftermath of 9/11. Zaytuna Institute became Zaytuna College in 1430/ 2009. Website: http://www.zaytunacollege.org

M17) The Islamic Global Network – “Planet Islam” seeks to promote True Islam globally in the most suitable manner: ‘Say: “This is My Way: I invite unto Allah with sound knowledge – I and whoever follows me. Glory to Allah, and never will I associate gods with Allah!”’ (HQ, 12:108)

First Decade Distinguished Achiever – Sheikh Nazim al-Haqqani, Cyprus
