In Rabi al-Thani 1422/ July 2001, the book ‘MILLENNIUM ISLAM’, a guide to how to be a Muslim in the new millennium and fifteenth Islamic century, was published. The book contained seven Islamic Missions of global significance, which when combined are referred to as ‘Mission Islam’. Over the past decade, many Muslims around the world have strived to achieve ‘Mission Islam’ and below are those individuals and institutions whose distinguished achievements Ihsanic Intelligence (I-I) celebrates.
M I 1: Water is Life
MI1) The Islamic Relief Network – “Water is Life” seeks to raise the access of water and basic health facilities in the Islamic world: ‘We made from water every living thing.’ (HQ, 21:30)

Islamic Relief is a leading international aid and development charity striving to end poverty and is based in the United Kingdom. In 1430/ 2009, it celebrated its 25th anniversary and has over 360 projects in 35 countries, and its work has been honoured by HRH Prince Charles of the United Kingdom. MI2) The Islamic Commercial Network – “The Bounty of Allah” seeks the establishment of a global commercial system unifying the Islamic world’s resources whereby Muslims trade justly with one another: ‘In the Bounty of Allah, and in His Mercy – in that, let them rejoice.’ (HQ, 10:58)

M13) The Islamic Financial Network – ‘War on Usury” seeks to eliminate the Islamic world’s debt through the establishment of a global financial and banking system based on Islamic law: ‘O you who believe! Fear Allah and eliminate usury if you are really believers. And if you do not, then take notice of a war from Allah and His Messenger.’ (HQ, 2:278-9)

MI4) The Islamic Literacy Network – “Read!” seeks to increase the Islamic world’s literacy rate: ‘Read! In the Name of your Lord Who has created.’ (HQ, 96:1)

M I 5: Signs in Languages
M15) The Islamic Linguistic Network – “Signs in Languages” seeks to have the Invitation to Islam in every language and for the world to understand the Holy Qur’an in understanding in their native language and in Arabic: ‘And among His signs are the creation of the heavens and the earth and the differences of your languages and colours. Verily, in that are indeed signs for men of sound knowledge.’ (HQ, 30:22)
